High school is the age the whole world glorifies, and expects student to do the same.  Except, its not as easy as they make it out to be, is it?  Often, we need support or just a place to refocus and refresh.  There are people on our team who care about students, want to see them succeed in life, and point them towards our source of strength and joy, Jesus Christ. A teenager’s purpose in life is not to sit and wait until they are an adult to make a difference.  That time is now! We provide a safe place for high school students to grow, love, live, and give their lives within a community of friendly peers and adults who love Jesus Christ!  We want genuine relationships - with each other and with God -  to grow and develop through the ministries we offer. So no matter who you are, where you’ve come from, or where you are at in life, we would love to meet you! Come find friends, purpose, and the best life possible with Jesus Christ! Gene Sun, Middle School Youth Pastor
Middle school is a pretty unsettled time for students. They are figuring out who they are and their bodies and brains are still developing. They're stuck somewhere between "child" and "teenager". They like to have fun, like kids, but they also deal with difficult life issues and think deeply. We want to provide a place that meets that age group's unique needs. Mostly, we want our students learn to think critically and work out for themselves who Jesus is in their lives; we challenge them to really embrace their faith as their own. We focus on applicable Biblical teaching, honest discussions, and trusting God by bringing all our issues to Him in prayer. Kirsten Gillette, Girls Discipleship Director
You may be wondering, “So if there are two male youth pastors, is there anyone the girls can relate to?”  Yes!  That’s what I’m here for!  Middle and high school girls have many unique needs, and I have the exciting job of helping them grow in their faith, and meet those needs.  We offer Study Group classes (such as “Every Young Woman’s Battle” and “Lies Young Women Believe”) that allow girls, in a small group setting, to delve into scripture and deeper issues they’re facing. Throughout the year, we plan fun events just for middle and high school girls that help them grow socially and spiritually. My role is to ensure that the middle and high school girls are loved and ministered to, and we have many wonderful adults who join me in that mission. Contact Kirsten at kgillette@walnuthillcc.org
