For Such a Time as This Art Show

Calling all Walnut Hill visual artists! Walnut Hill is having an art show inspired by the challenge from Mordecai to Esther in Esther 4:12-14:

When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: “Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?

There is a calling upon artists to not hold back but utilize their God-given gifts to reveal His beauty and speak into culture for such a time as this.

For this show, we encourage you to find inspiration from the following:

• Do you sense a particular calling as an artist? Perhaps God has given you an area of passion or even inspired you to craft a vision statement that influences your work. If so, please submit completed or new works that align with that calling or passion.
• Do you have a particular artistic approach that you have developed that you feel represents your style? If so, please submit completed or new works of any theme that display your gifts and approach.
• Do you want to study Queen Esther and paint a portrait imagining her strength and beauty in her culture or another time period/setting? If so, release your creativity and get to work!
• Is there another theme within the book that resonates with you? Please feel free to explore the book of Esther and bring it to life for others to see.
