Rooted - Walnut Hill Community Church

We are excited to invite our church to participate in Rooted this fall!

This fall, we embark on a 10-week Rooted journey! We believe this experience will ignite a fresh passion for Jesus and help each of us grow deeper in our relationship with Him. Our Community Groups, Men’s and Women’s Ministries, Youth Ministry and Special Needs Ministry are all taking part, making Rooted a truly church-wide experience!

How do I participate in Rooted?

Our desire is for everyone to connect into a group this fall and grow deeper in their understanding and passion for Jesus. Rooted groups will launch the week of September 27 across our campuses and ministry areas. All you need to do to participate is to register for a group, pick up your Rooted Workbook and get ready for the journey ahead.

In addition to weekly group gatherings, there will be several key events taking place this fall that we strongly encourage all Rooted groups to mark on their calendars and attend as an important part of the experience.

Get Registered

Each participant will need a Rooted Workbook to guide them through the journey. Because we want to invest in your spiritual growth, we are providing a workbook at no cost to everyone who registers by September 6 and commits to the full 10-week experience. We are grateful for the group of individuals who are making this possible by offsetting the $20 workbook cost. After September 6, workbooks will be available for $20 each.

Why should I join a Rooted group?

Rooted groups show us how to build our lives on Christ.

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NLT) | “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.

During our 10 weeks together, we will be transformed through experiences with the 7 rhythms of disciples of Jesus Christ that we see in the book of Acts – daily devotion, prayer, repentance, sacrificial generosity, serving, sharing our stories and worship. This is what it looks like to have roots that reach deep into the Living Water who is Jesus Christ.

Rooted groups teach us how to live out and strengthen our faith.

Colossians 2:6-7 (NLT) | And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him. Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught…

As disciples of Jesus Christ, we need our identity to be rooted in Christ, so that our faith can grow strong and we can answer the call of Christ to share the Good News. Rooted will teach us intentional rhythms that ground our identity in Christ and draw us closer to Him. This will strengthen our faith.

Rooted groups equip us to be better disciples of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT) | “…go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

To answer the call of Christ to make disciples, we need to be disciples – those who pursue Him daily and follow Him wholeheartedly. Rooted will teach us ways to connect with God and allow Him to transform us into who He made us to be by the power of His Spirit.

1 Peter 2:9 (NLT) | You are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

This is a critical time for us to answer the call of Christ. The world is increasingly dark and we have the light they need. We must be well-formed, mature disciples of Jesus Christ so that we can show others the goodness of God and point them to a relationship with Him.
