LEAD PASTOR, EXECUTIVE

With 25 years of experience in team leadership, Adam has been described as a catalytic pioneer — one who successfully takes concepts from birth to reality by building strong teams; defining and clarifying vision, purpose and organizational structure; and developing culturally relevant strategies that move an organization into the future. Adam firmly believes in the “stewardship of vision” and works with passion and commitment to make a long-lasting impact on the world today.

Adam’s education includes a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in piano performance and music technology and a Master of Arts in Transformational Leadership from Bethel Seminary. Having served on the Walnut Hill staff for 18 years, Adam was previously responsible for launching the 24/7 prayer ministry, Community Groups as well as the Seymour, Derby and New Milford Campuses. Prior to entering ministry, Adam worked in Nashville, TN, where he co-owned a music production company and worked for clients such as Focus on the Family, EMI, Integrity Music, Sparrow Records, Women of Faith and DreamWorks.

Adam is married to Carrie and has three children. He enjoys music and can be found participating on our worship teams on a regular basis. A lover of New England's spiritual history, he enjoys visiting and writing about historical locations throughout the region as well as visiting lighthouses and sitting on almost any beach.

At Walnut Hill, Adam is responsible for the accomplishment of the church’s mission through the strategic oversight of ministry, operations and staff.

Specific Responsibilities Include:
• Vision and overall direction (shared responsibility with Craig)
• Member of the Elder Board (strategy and secretary)
• Development, implementation and activation of Walnut Hill's ministry strategy
• Oversight of operations and specific ministry areas (finance, facilities, communication, worship & the arts, discipleship, administration, IT and HR)
• Staff oversight
• Change management
• External church relationships
• Developing Walnut Hill as a regional resource
